BUFFALO NEIGHBORHOOD MAP

Map in Lath

Once again Knotty Moose Studio is honored to collaborate with designer Ben Harris to offer a limited second edition silkscreen print of the award winning “Buffalo Neighborhood Map.” The frame is designed from reclaimed lath from Buffalo homes. This one of a kind gift is literally a piece of Buffalo history.

“Buffalo, NY, is a city with many diverse neighborhoods separated along distinct historical lines.  I wanted to record those divisions before gentrification and other forces render them unclear.  To capture the feeling of being lost in a dense, urban environment, I employed a style suggestive of a maze.  The level of detail and style is determined by which area is portrayed.  Green space, residential areas, cemeteries, and bodies of water are all rendered in different ways.  I illustrated the map by hand over the course of two to three weeks”  -Ben Harris; Communication Arts Typography Annual 6
